Every year 15th of September is celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India. On this day, sir M. Visvesvaraya was born in the Mysore Kingdom of British India. He was the first engineer of India and this day is celebrated as a tribute to him. He is known as the father of Indian Engineering because of his enormous contributions and innovations in the field of engineering.

He was awarded British knighthood in 1915 while serving as the Diwan of Mysore and received Bharat Ratna in 1955.  This day is also celebrated to serve as a reminder of the hard work, dedication, and efforts thousands of engineers have put in for the advancement of science and technology worldwide.
